FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Do you have a shop?

We have an office based in Chelsea, London. Clients are received by by appointment only.

Do you make custom jewellery?

Yes. Custom jewellery is at the heart of what we do. We'd love to discuss your jewellery ideas and bring them to life, so get in touch to start your journey with us!

Do you work with clients remotely?

We offer video and phone consultations. Many clients are not London-based, and we remain more than happy to go through the bespoke design process together. We are just as available to answer your questions by phone and email as we would be face-to-face.

Do you ship jewellery abroad?

We can ship your new jewellery through Royal Mail Special Delivery in the United Kingdom. For international shipping, we use tracked DHL International. This will save you the hassle of booking a trip to London; unless, of course, you want to come see your favourite jeweller.

How long will it take to make my bespoke jewellery piece?

The wait time will depend on the level of technical design required to finish the piece. We generally recommend a lead time of 6 - 8 weeks. We will, of course, keep you updated with the progress of your ring - and are happy to discuss timeframes with you.

We recommend waiting for your bespoke jewellery piece to be with you before planning any major events (e.g. engagements).

Where is your jewellery made?

All our jewellery is made in the United Kingdom. The workshop is based in Hatton Garden, London’s famous jewellery quarter, where our artisans make, set, polish and engrave your jewellery.

Can you use my Heirloom Jewellery, Gemstones or Gold in a new piece?

Absolutely! If there is one type of job we love, it is taking your beloved heirloom jewellery and revisiting it's beautiful history.

We are able to re-set jewels, apply new stones, try different pairings - the limits are endless. We can also re-use the materials and create a whole new bespoke piece.

How do I get a quote?

Please email us a brief with some reference images or a mood board, as well as any other specifications to info@stapyltonsmith.com, and we will get back to you in the next few days.

Can you resize my ring?

All rings we create come with one free resize on purchase. Resizing takes around 2 weeks to complete.

To prevent the need, please do feel free to check out our Ring Sizing Guide!

Can I return a bespoke or made-to-order piece?

Under our Refunds and Returns Policy - and UK consumer law - bespoke, personalised or made-to-order products are strictly non-returnable. We strongly encourage all clients to be 100% certain with their decision, before confirming their choice, and production commencing.

Yes, of course. Stapytlon-Smith Ltd is always happy to conduct repairs on bespoke jewellery, within 3 years.

However, if budgetary confines are proving difficult for you, please do get in touch and we will see what we can do to work together.

What payment methods do you accept?

What should I do if my jewellery needs cleaning?

If your jewellery needs cleaning, you can leave it with us for a few days for a full professional clean and polish. Alternatively, you can clean it at home every few months using a soft brush and mild soap, but since different pieces require different care, we recommend checking with us first for specific advice.
